Case Study: Transforming Blogs Into Video With AI

Writing blogs is easy.

Maybe that’s a slight exaggeration. Sure, it’s not always simple to find the right words for whatever you need to say. But AI tools galore are getting better and better at helping with the process or even typing a few blogs of their own.

And words have always been easier to pull together than photos, photos easier than video. But video, studies show, is what people want most. It also helps them remember information better and process it faster.

Luckily, AI can help here too. You can take a blog post and turn it into a video with just a few clicks. In fact, we did exactly that using our own Lucas AI Video Creator. Here’s how it worked.

The Setup: Turning 10 Blogs to 20 AI Videos

In another example of eating our own dog food, we used Lucas, our all-in-one AI video solution, to create two videos each for the 10 blogs below:

To minimize bias for the various keywords, we chose the 10 blogs above with an even split of our top-performing blogs and our lowest performing blogs.

One video used a vertical (9:16) format and was under one minute, ideal for YouTube Shorts. The other was a landscape orientation (16:9) video of 1-2 minutes in length, which we embedded on the related blog post.

We loaded all 20 videos to YouTube with a backlink to the blog post in the description and a few relevant hashtags.

How We Made the AI Videos

To create the videos, we gave Lucas AI Video Creator a simple prompt: the URL of the blog post.

Then Lucas created the script and storyboard, selected visuals, created relevant animations, added a voiceover and music, and rendered the video fast using our Next Generation Video Platform.

We made a few edits to the script here and there since edits are easy, but perfection wasn’t the goal here. It was more about speed and efficiency.

Here’s one example from our blog about the ideal video length for video ads.

Case Study Results

AI videos can improve SEO by showing on Page 1 of Google and take less than a minute to make.

Overall, the campaign proved effective. For a trivial amount of time spent dropping in a prompt to create a video and then uploading it to YouTube and our website, the AI videos increased both time on page on our blog and our video rankings on both Google and YouTube.

Here are the key results:

  • Lucas videos can increase visibility on Google. Multiple videos showed at the top of the search engine results page (SERP). Others show in the Video tab.
  • Lucas videos can increase blog engagement. Blogs that had at least 50 views saw 9% higher time on page and 20% more views.
  • Long videos perform better on YouTube. Videos of around 1.5-2 minutes in length got 5x more views than YouTube Shorts that were under a minute long.

The big win here? Getting more visibility on Google. See 2 of our AI videos showing up for the search query “generation alpha marketing.”

Takeaway: This means AI videos can directly improve your SEO — and all it takes is the URL. No scriptwriting or video skills needed.

Here’s the first video Google showed for this keyword. (Notice that Google’s algorithm prioritized the longer video of the 2 we created in this case.)

Nine months after our campaign started, these 2 videos shown above are still on Page 1 for Google’s search results. One interesting thing to note is that they shifted from the first and second spots to the second and third, and a video posted this year had moved to the No. 1 spot.

This is because Google prioritizes fresh content. But the good news is that making a new AI video is just as easy — easier actually — than updating a blog. It takes less than a minute to make a video with our AI, from start to finish. So you can keep your AI videos fresh for timely, relevant content that Google loves.

Video Marketing Made Easy With Lucas

We’ve already shown how easy it is to turn a webpage into a video. Using blogs for video content marketing is a natural use case for this technology.

And it’s something consumers want. Nearly 8 out of 10 people say they want more video content from brands, and video creates an emotional connection with the viewer in a way that text can’t. In fact, Lucas summed this up in one of our blog videos, shown below.

Our initial test included 10 blogs, but we plan to do 10 more (and more from there). And why not? If it only takes selecting a blog post, dropping it into Lucas, clicking the button to create and downloading the result, this is video marketing at its most scalable.

Every video is on brand because we’ve set up our brand fonts, colors, etc., with Lucas in advance. And we can be sure the content is accurate because it’s using information that we wrote initially. (Read our guide to how RAG works.)

Imagine scaling your video marketing 100x or more without any specialized technical skills, an agency or an in-house video team.

This is the future of video marketing. Are you ready for it?
